Commitment to Accessibility

Jacobs Land Management LLC is dedicated to ensuring our digital services are accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We aim to provide an inclusive online experience by adhering to recognized accessibility standards and continuously improving our site’s usability.

Standards and Guidelines

  • We strive to meet or exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and actively monitor updates toward WCAG 2.2.

  • We guide our efforts by referencing the U.S. Section 508 Standards and other best practices, such as WAI‑ARIA.

Our Accessibility Efforts

  1. Responsive & Flexible Design

    • Pages and components adapt seamlessly across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.

    • Layouts and controls resize without loss of functionality or clarity.

  2. Keyboard & Assistive‑Technology Support

    • Full keyboard navigation for all interactive elements.

    • Semantic HTML and ARIA roles ensure compatibility with screen readers and other assistive tools.

  3. Meaningful Alternative Text

    • All non‑decorative images, icons, and media include clear, descriptive alt text or captions.

  4. Readable, Understandable Content

    • Plain language in headings, links, and body text.

    • Logical reading order and consistent navigation patterns.

    • Sufficient color contrast (minimum 4.5:1 for standard text, 3:1 for large text).

  5. Accessible Documents & Multimedia

    • PDFs, Word documents, and videos are released in accessible formats with proper tagging, transcripts, and captions.

    • We test downloadable resources against standard screen readers.

  6. Ongoing Testing & Training

    • Regular automated scans (e.g., Axe, WAVE) and manual audits to detect issues.

    • Staff training on accessible design, authoring, and procurement.

Known Limitations & Roadmap

While we work diligently to address accessibility barriers, some third‑party content and legacy materials may not fully conform. Where gaps exist, we:

  • Collaborate with vendors to request improvements.

  • Offer alternative accessible formats upon request.

  • Prioritize remediation in our regular development sprints.
